The Family Car

Our cars are a part of our family; we need to be able to trust them for years on end as we drive to school, work, vacation, soccer fields, shopping centers and grocery stores. Unfortunately, they need maintenance to run smoothly.

Routine car care maintenance is mandatory in order to keep it running properly. Schedule regular check-ups and identify signs of wear on your vehicle that may lead to a breakdown or component damage.

It’s easy to get overwhelmed and worry about the cost, but it actually saves you money in the long run. If you are proactive in caring for your vehicle, it can last longer and be much more efficient.

Follow the maintenance schedule in your owner’s manual and/or per your mechanics recommendations.  Routine oil changes and checking your vehicle’s fluids and filters will keep it from aging before its time. Take care of any minor problems and easy repair work as soon as possible. Don’t ignore check-engine lights, poor handling, brake issues or other problems that present themselves. Neglect can be much more costly in the long run.

If you have been lax about making regular maintenance appointments for your vehicle then your first step should be to call your mechanic! We know keeping up with car maintenance can be a pain, but bigger problems can arise if you are not diligent.

So make sure you address your car’s minor problems early. The potential consequences of ignoring problems can be catastrophic. A visit to the mechanic doesn’t have to be scary. Build a relationship with a car care service center you can trust.

Changing oil regularly is vital; otherwise you’re risking permanent damage to your vehicle. We Set your Calendar reminders for maintenance and contact you by text and or email. We make the necessary notes for upcoming service and/or repairs. Replacement schedules may vary according to time and mileage.

We all count on our vehicles to get us to and from work each day, to bring the kids and their friends to practices or school events and to take road trips or vacations. It is essential that we treat our vehicles like they are part of the family. Because they are!

Remember that a trained technician can spot potential problems early, nipping costly repairs in the bud. Keep these tips in mind all year round to ensure you’re motoring along smoothly and saving your car from costly repairs.

Once you’ve mastered the mechanical essentials, perform a clean out of your vehicle. Toss out the trash after each commute. Excess dirt and trash can wear down upholstery and carpeting. Vacuum regularly and wipe down surfaces. Take it through a car wash to remove salt, grease, grime, acid rain, sap, dead bugs, bird droppings and other things that can eat away at your paint and damage your vehicle.

Preserving your vehicle is important for comfort of use and to ensure you maintain your Family Car’s overall value.

Sincerely,

From your Automotive Family
